Pen Pals

So a few weeks ago someone asked me to be a pen pal. How exciting is that this day in age? Of course it is through e-mail but I am really thinking we should do a throw back letter and take it to the snail mail. Honestly though, I haven’t been the best of holding up my end of the deal. I made the commitment and I need to stick with it and regularly. My pen pal wrote this in an e-mail:

“I just read the last two blog posts.  “Dream it forward” – I love that!!  I must say your journey and the ideas/suggestions you’ve made have been on my mind a good bit since I started following your blog.  That has lead me to telling some friends about it.  I’m headed to Louisiana for a Thanksgiving family reunion in a few days and I’m sure I’ll be talking to some of my relatives about it too.  The point I’m making here is this – it’s working… a new seed of inspiration has been planted.  And I’m sure someone I tell is going to become interested and inspired and tell their friends… and so on from one person to the next… and the whole thing grows… and people you don’t even know are affected in very positive ways because they were inspired to be kind/selfless/courageous… and they find a deeper happiness… and that’s such a beautiful thing.”

After reading this I had a huge smile on my face. It is such a beautiful thing.

Dear Pen Pals (and readers),

A blog would be a lonely place without others to share it with. I greatly value your time and appreciate you taking the time to read the blog. Everyday I get words of encouragement in the form of texts, e-mails, Facebook comments, blog comments, etc.. Some of you I have never even met and yet you reach out to me and for that I am so thankful. I value all forms of feedback. The fact that so many of you share inspiring words with me in return is very humbling. I need you MUCH more than you think. Thank you to all of my readers who pay it forward by sharing my blog with others. That is how we all grow together. We reach out to others when they could use some encouragement and inspiration. So THANK YOU. This isn’t the last time I will say this. Every day I am humbled by my readers and every day you bring a smile to my face. Keep on inspiring me, sharing it forward, looking for happiness and know that I am so excited to share this journey of life together with you.

THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

Now if you would excuse me, I have a e-mail I need to write to a very special pen pal…….
