Just Do It
Just do it is much easier said than done. So when I started this blog, I wanted to document my journey hopefully to inspire not only myself but others as well. Sometimes it is hard to honestly put yourself out there to be criticized and as I talk about the fear of failure always holds us back. It is time to just do it.
I haven’t been working out consistently in a few months. I have gained some weight and I’ve been lazy. I love being physically active and when I decided to follow my dreams I stopped focusing on my fitness. . Like most people, I use the typical excuses: no time, too boring, I’m stressed, I don’t have a routine etc…
If you have read my bucket list you know I have a goal to do a century ride (ride 100 miles on my bike in a day). The other day I came across 4 guys that are riding 10,000 miles called Ride to Rio. I love it. I am sure it will be an incredible journey for them and I always love it when people live their dreams.
A year from now you will wish that you started towards your dream today. So instead of being that person that wishes, I am starting today. I was at lunch and told the guys I would be embarrassed if I got on the scale right now. More than anything because I have let myself down and put other things above my health. We only get one body so it is important that we take care of it.
“The greatest battle is not physical but psychological. The demons telling us to give up when we push ourselves to the limit can never be silenced for good. They must always be answered by the quiet, the steady dignity that simply refuses to give in. Courage. We all suffer. Keep going”
My Goals for the Next Year:
- Current Weight 161 Goal Weight 140
- Do 25 push-ups without resting
- Do 100 crunches without resting
- Run 3 miles in 24 minutes
- Lose 2 pant sizes
- Complete a century ride 🙂
If anyone else has goals that you want to reach and you want to buddy up with me on reaching your goal (doesn’t have to be fitness related), let me know. You can post a comment, text me, call me, email me or whatever you need to do to get my attention. I will share in motivation and encouragement. The saying goes “There are seven days in a week and someday isn’t one of them”. Just do it!
