So here are my pictures from Christmas. They are over the course of a few days.
I went to Santa Claus, Indiana. It is a real town. There wasn’t much there besides a store and holiday world. BUT it is a place you can go visit to say you’ve visited Santa Claus.
I spent a few days with my family in Kansas. I went to the farm and spent time out there. My sister and I made a ridiculous video of shooting Dr Topper (pop out of a tree). Yeah it was so gangsta!
I went to breakfast with my aunt/uncle and grandpa one morning. My aunt asked me to go to the nursing home to take pictures of my grandma because they aren’t sure how much longer she will make it. When I got there my grandma refused to talk when she was talking only minutes before I got there. She didn’t want to do the pictures but didn’t fight the aids when they helped her get out of bed and sit in front of the tree. So I got a few pictures of her and with her.
On a lighter note, my siblings and had a 2 team project of constructing houses out of gingerbread Poptarts. That is right… there is such a thing. Of course the parents were the judge and my sister and I won the Poptart award. My siblings are all ‘adults’ and we don’t have kids so it is fun to act a fool only we don’t have children around as an excuse. Pretty sure I am in no way grown up nor do I want to be.
I was supposed to go to Tulsa. Due to circumstances and weather, I decided to head to Dallas instead. Well Dallas got hit with snow too so I didn’t go far enough south. Christmas Day I went to IHOP with Corey for breakfast. Met up with Matt and went to his family’s get together in the afternoon. Afterwards I went to see Shaun’s family. Shaun was there via Skype. The good news is that I get to go see him in a month in Colombia! Merry Christmas to me.
Christmas wasn’t spent how I thought but it was very much a lesson. Every day is an opportunity to learn something that helps us in the future. If we are aware of our lives our goals, and who we want to be, we can figure out what we need to do to accomplish those things.
At the end of the day it is about the act of love and kindness that makes our lives better. I am so thankful for my friends and family. That is what the holidays are about. It is my hope that you all see yourselves as a important part of my world and know how thankful I am. I may not always make the right choices but my heart is full of love for each person that has impacted me in some way. Just know we are all in life together and together we are changing our world.
